I'm assuming that if you only put 9 quarts in it, you haven't swapped in a new TC, so your original TC is still filled with the correct fluid. And since you haven't run the trans in gear yet you should be able to just pull the pan and let it drain. Fill it up with the proper stuff, run it a bit and let it pump through, and then drain again.
